I have been a Senior Consultant at MHS since 2014. I have a special interest in service improvement and evaluation.
Originally trained as a nurse, I worked across a variety of settings in clinical and management roles. Following this I moved to the Audit Commission, gaining experience of working with both NHS and Local Authority organisations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of a wide range of services. I am experienced in working in and with the third sector. For the Patients Association I led a high profile project to improve complaints handling firstly at Mid Staffs Hospital and then across the NHS. This provided a great opportunity to work with patients and complainants and to drive improvement in NHS Trusts from the patient’s perspective.
Outside of work I care for a close relative who suffers from serious mental illness. I also cared for both my parents recently in their final years. This has given me a keen insight into health and social care services from a carer’s perspective, but sadly, little time to pursue many hobbies.
